Lets discuss what these numbers actually mean.
The top number would optimally read 120/ is your Systolic blood pressure. This measures the force your heart exerts on the walls of your arteries each time it beats. The bottom number which would optimally read /70 is your Diastolic blood pressure. This measures the force your heart exerts on the walls of your arteries in between beats as it re-fills.
Normal: Less than 120 over 80 (120/80)
Elevated: 120-129/less than 80
Stage 1 high blood pressure: 130-139/80-89
Stage 2 high blood pressure: 140 and above/90 and above
Hypertension crisis: higher than 180/higher than 120 … This can be an emergency 🚨
Causes of high blood pressure can include
Smoking… try to quit
Being overweight or obese - Let’s get talking about anti inflammatory diet 🥝
Lack of physical activity- With weight loss we look at building muscle strength to speed metabolism 🏊🏼
Too much salt in the diet - can use herbs 🌿 to add flavor.
