Each day we go to the bathroom and urinate but did you know that your urine can say a much about your health?

What is the colour of your urine?
Each morning, and then throughout the day, we should be looking at the colour of our urine to help us determine whether we are over or under hydrated.
The darker urine, the more you may need to increase your fluids throughout the day. Just drinking a large amount at one time causes more imbalance than balance, so it’s best to pace yourself throughout the day. If your urine is to clear you, maybe over hydrating yourself and losing a lot of valuable minerals.
In Clinic, I like to discuss urine and will often test it to ensure a healthy balance.
This is a great chance to measure the colour.
Our goal is for it to be the second colour from the top throughout the day.
You can calculate an estimate of
the amount of water you are required to be drinking through the day. 0.3 x your weight in Kg. For example a 60kg person may need a base of 2l of water.
