My teenage girls favourite DIY skin masks

Mix together in a bowl

1 tablespoon of whole oats - preferably soaked overnight in a small amount of water

with

2 tablespoons of Goats or Sheep yoghurt

Mix these and place into the fridge overnight or for a few hours in a sealed container. When ready apply to your face with a brush to create an even layer. This can be left onto your skin for up to 20 minutes then washed off with lukewarm water.

Because Oats are rich in antioxidants and contain essential oils that are gentle and anti-inflammatory to the skin they are a great addition to any mask or exfoliant. Yoghurt has a cooling effect and moisturises the skin. This is best for Normal skin types.

When experiencing Blackheads

add,

1 tablespoon of cinnamon to

2 tablespoons of raw organic cold pressed honey

Combine into a small dish and spread over the face avoiding the eye and lip area. Massage gently into the skin and leave for up to 5 minutes. Gently remove with lukewarm water and a soft facial cloth.

The anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties of cinnamon work to cleanse the skin as the honey has natural antiseptic and antioxidants to support this process.

Remember if wearing make up cleans this off first!

One of the best cleansers I have put together for my girls and myself is

1 leaf of fresh aloe vera

1 tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda

4 drops of essential oils of lemon

2 table spoons of coconut oil

blitz in a blender and keep in an airtight container in the fridge - as needed use a small amount on a soft damp facial cloth and remove all make up. This is also hydrating to the skin.
